Our Lavender grows at an altitude of 800 meters in a south facing location. This is an ideal place for lavender to grow and blossom. At the lavender fields you can admire a stunning view. From here it’s possible to see the Fortress of Assisi and Mount Amiata in Tuscany. Photography, painting and lavender lovers say about this charming and uncontaminated place:

“Give me odorous at sunrise a garden of beautiful flowers where I can walk undisturbed”
(Walt Whitman)
It takes a ten-minute walk to get to our lavender field which extends over an area of 5000 square meters. We grow three main varieties of Lavender: Hybrid Lavender (Lavandin), Lavender Officinalis and Hydecote Blue. The phases of lavender’s harvest and processing are completely manual, with NO use of machines, chemical fertilizers and herbicides.

During the blossoming season, between July and August, we harvest our lavender. We then clean the lavender shelled flowers and use them to create our homemade funny lavender bags and sachets, useful to refresh the air and for moth prevention.

We obtain lavender essential oil by steam distillation. This oil is well known for its therapeutic properties such as, among others, relaxing, energizing and healing properties.
"Our lavender boasts a pleasant, strong, intense and long-lasting scent"
In ancient Rome, lavender was already recognized as precious. Ancient Romans used lavender in hot thermal waters and to prepare lavender teas and beauty infusions. In ancient times, lavender was used to refresh the air, for personal hygiene and for disinfection. During the Middle Ages and throughout the 18th century, lavender was used to clean and disinfect the floor. The spike of the lavender is said to be a talisman bringing prosperity and fertility, casting out demons. Lavender is the astral essence of Aries. It helps to mitigate impulsivity.
"Mother Nature has created a plant which is useful in different ways and whose beneficial properties are the following: antiseptic, germicide, antispasmodic, analgesic, scar healing, anti-moth, sudorific and sedative"
How to use lavender - a few examples:
  • In order to scent your underwear or get rid of moths, I suggest you put a lavender sachet in your drawers and wardrobes.
  • Applying a few drops of lavender essential oil on the skin can help stopping mosquitos bites from itching.
  • Using lavender essential oil to massage joints and painful muscles is a natural pain relief.
  • To have a peaceful night, I suggest you apply a few drops of our essential oil on your pillow.
  • Try the benefits of aromatherapy: add 5 or 6 drops of lavender essential oil and water to your diffuser.

Paola has a great big heart and is very kind and inclusive. She invited me to join their family dinner which i really appreciated! Plus it was delicious! She gave me a walk about to see the beautiful views. They are high up in the hills in pure naturalezza! They grow lavender and waiting in the guest bedroom was a little sachet of her home grown lavendar and a lovely soap. Her husband Stefano, was also very welcoming
